1 kg red carrots (grated)

1 litre full cream milk

4–5 tbsp ghee

½ – ¾ cup sugar (adjust to taste)

½ tsp cardamom powder

1. Prep the Carrots

First of all you have to wash the carrots and then peel them with the help of any peeler then, grate the carrots. It is suggested to use fresh red carrots for the best flavor.

2. Cook the Carrots in Milk

Take a heavy pan or kadhai, add 2-3 table spoon of desi ghee roast the grated carrots for five minutes and pour the milk.Cook on medium flame until the milk starts reducing.Stir it continuously.

3. Let the Milk Evaporate

It takes 2 to half an hour to get the milk to its proper thickness, continue cooking until the milk thickens and completely evaporates.This gives halwa its rich taste. You’ll notice the aroma changing and the halwa turning glossy.

4. Add Sugar
